To Ross...

You wanted me to update my blog, well here it is what I have to say...

SIGN UP YOUR FANTASY FOOTBALL TEAM!
WE WANT VICTORY ON DEMAND BACK!

And yes I know Rudy Rudiger is spelled wrong, but as a tribute to Brian and to drive you crazy I decided not to change it this year. But just so you know that I know, it is spelled R-u-e-t-t-i-g-e-r.

Dan and the Big 3-0!

Scary that we are getting closer and closer to middle age! It is a good thing Dan always hits the milestones two years before me! So Dan turned 30 a couple days ago. Crazy! I like to make fun of him about it. It is a good time!

We had a pretty low key birthday. Went to Red Robin with the kids since that restaurant is an easy one for them. Balloons, crayons, and all the fries they could possibly shove into their mouths. Tyson really is incredible with fries! We often ponder, "When could he stop" or "We have a miniature eating champion in our hands. We are witnessing greatness!" Anyway, then we came home, had cake and opened presents. Basically Dan has everything he ever wants so I bought him what he would have wanted when he was a kid, Star Wars toys. He and Megan put together the Lego ship thing. It was cute. Here are some pics.

Megan looking on with glee at the yummy chocolate cake! Who could possibly resist?

What I like to call, the "Candle Graveyard." And next year, we add one more!

Of Hospitals, Holidays, and Hundreds of Piano Lessons

I am a bad, bad blogger. I wish I was better. For the last oh, 4 months I have been out of the loop. Only today have I seen pictures of two of my friends new babies that I didn't even know they had!!!! Pathetic! So I apologize for not keeping in touch and for not updating this blog.

So first subject: Hospitals. Last month we had a serious scare with Tyson that really put life into perspective for us. The stomach flu was making the rounds in our ward and so our kids got it, Megan first. Tyson got it worse though. He was throwing up every day for a few days, though only once or twice. We thought he would just get over it like Megan, but then one day he woke up all blue - blue lips, blue hands, blue feet and he was cold. We take him to urgent care and the tell us it is serious so they rush Dan and Ty to the hospital in an ambulance, leaving me to go home with Megan and grab a hospital bag not knowing what was going on and crying pretty much hysterically. Get to the hospital and the doctors can't figure anything out right away because they can't draw blood from him. He is on oxygen and an IV and is as lethargic as we have ever seen - and he is a goer which made it so surreal for us. The next day he starts to perk up a bit and we find out he had RSV along with the stomach stuff. So he was probably dehydrated too along with the respiratory stuff. After another day we are able to take him home under the premise that we force him to drink, since he was refusing everything at the hospital. He got better after about another week and he is perfectly healthy now, which we are so grateful for. Thank goodness for priesthood blessings and for the peace that comes from the Holy Ghost.

Our holiday season went fantastic - with a little slide show in the previous post. Sorry to post all this so late. Maybe next year I will make a resolution to not procrastinate!

So I am teaching piano lessons now and I really enjoy it. It reminds me of when I taught school. I have 14 students right now, which can be a little busy, but it is fun. We are having our first recital in May and the theme is classical. So each student will pick one classical piece and one of their choice. I just feel like kids these days don't get as much exposure to classical and don't want to play it, so I am forcing the issue since I love classical - Bach and Mozart especially. We'll see how that goes!

Christmas Slide Show

Okay, so I know I am way far behind, but here are some pictures of Christmas. Grandparents, we apologize for the lateness.

Happy Halloween

Megan still is talking about her favorite holiday, Halloween. We'll see what her favorite holiday is after Christmas though! We had a fun Halloween holiday, which seemed to last forever. We had parties, trunk-or-treat and regular trick-or-treating, which Megan thoroughly enjoyed and still wants more of. Here are some pictures:

Us at the ward trunk-or-treat. Dan was Obi Wan Kenobi, I was Princess Leia, Tyson was Darth Vader and Megan was a Care Bear (she has gotten too old for our themed Halloweens!)

Megan with her cousins, Benjamin and Rebekah. They came out trick-or-treating with us. They all got so much candy, the adults had to carry their heavy bags.

Balloon Fiesta

Two weeks ago was Balloon Fiesta here in Albuquerque and this was our first year to attend!! We went with our friends, the Passeys, since they had all the balloon fiesta traditions down after years of attending. So we got up and going bright and early (5:30!!) and headed to the Balloon Park, and right away we are just amazed. It was a whole lot bigger than we expected -- there were balloons everywhere. And you got to go right up to them and see them get blown up. Very cool! We went on Special Shapes day so we got to see Wally (aka Nemo without Disney's permission), Darth Vader, dragons, pumpkins, a beer stein, and tons more. It was way better than I every expected and I am sure we will make this a yearly family tradition! Just let us know if you guys ever want to come down for it - we have an extra room!

One of those days you can laugh about later...

So because I was way behind with blogging, I thought I was so proud of myself for posting something last week, but it came at a cost! While I was making my post, I heard Tyson stirring from his nap. He wasn't wailing so I thought, "I have a few more minutes." But after a while he was still just hanging out in his crib. So I sent Megan in to see him and just play with him while I did something else. Finally, I think, "He is just way too content in there," so I go and check things out. AAAAGH! Pants off, diaper off!!! Oh no, he has been in there for at least 10 minutes like this! So I do a quick touch check for pee. Sure enough, little stuffed Sully from Monsters Inc is wet. Yuck!! So I pull him and everything around him out to wash. And then I notice a smell... NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Sure enough a poo was hanging out under the blankets. YICK!

Now, I can look back and laugh. And Dan sure help me gain a good perspective of it all by saying, "At least he didn't poo while in the bathtub (MEGAN!)". Now that is gross and not something you can laugh about later!

Here are some pictures I failed to post in the month that I was AWOL:

Tyson's 1st birthday -- Aug 30th. Megan wanted a Nemo birthday cake and since Tyson would have no idea what is was anyway, I obliged.
